2015-2016 / Early Reads
Some patterns were obvious before they were respectable.
Bitcoin in 2015. Tesla in 2016. Two different reads, same instinct: the serious shift often looks strange before the market gives people permission to believe it.
What I saw
Bitcoin felt like a monetary and network shift in 2015, not just internet money for weirdos.
Tesla felt like a software, energy, manufacturing, and belief-system company in 2016, not just a strange car bet.
Why it mattered
Both were tests of whether I could see a future before the normal people in the room had language for it.
The pattern was not prediction for its own sake. It was conviction before consensus.
What I built / did
I worked with a founder doing Bitcoin ATMs in 2015.
In 2016, I put serious Microsoft-income conviction behind Tesla.
What I learned
Being early feels dumb until it feels obvious.
The trick is not to be contrarian. The trick is to be clear before the story gets cleaned up for everyone else.
Where it is now
These are not current products. They are receipts for the pattern.
I see what matters before the industry does. Sometimes I am too early. Usually I am right on.
